March Squid of the Month!

…hardworking, caring, and selfless are just a few of the words I can use to describe what a great student she is.” -Mrs. Wickersham (8th Grade Science Teacher)
When 8th-grade teachers were asked if they had any nominees for our March Squid of the Month, one name came up immediately; Myah Gonzales. Myah is an 8th-grade student who joined Village Tech in 2020. In her short time here, she has significantly impacted anyone around her. She is always one to seek first to understand and then be understood. After talking to some of her peers, it became apparent that she always puts others’ needs ahead of her own.
She is sweet, smart, funny, and never fails to make my day.” -Amya Gray (8th Grade Student)

When we asked Ms. Speed, her English teacher, she said that Myah displays extraordinary leadership among peers, is not afraid to take risks and challenges on project-based learning events, and is overall a ‘well-rounded’ student. During 8th grade’s most recent POL or presentation of learning, Myah presented her “Lord of the Flies” vision board. Her excellent presentation skills and sweet spirit made all the guests feel welcomed and left them impressed. Myah’s favorite activities outside of school are soccer, gymnastics, swimming, and volleyball. She also loves algebra and anything involving numbers. One thing is for sure; everyone knows that Myah’s future is bright, and we are very honored to have her as a Viper Squid!
