May Teacher Spotlight!

Seriously one of the best teachers and coworkers I have had had the pleasure of being around.” – 8th grade teacher

Mrs. Katherine Wickersham is Village Tech’s 8th grade Science teacher. She has been a teacher at Village Tech since 2015 and to say that she has left her mark on our students is putting it lightly. Mrs. Wickersham is constantly working up new ways to teach students how science works and how it is used in day-to-day life. The most famous project she is known for is the construction and launching of rockets. She let the students make each rocket on their own and even invited parents out to witness the students launching their creations. Today in class, she is teaching students how to create wet slides with creek slides and view them under microscopes in hopes of seeing small insects or bacteria.

Recently, at Mosaic, Mrs. Wickersham collaborated with other subject areas in 8th grade and helped students create an interactive place crash based on the book ‘Lord of the Flies’.

“She is super nice actually cares about each and every one of us. She helps us to actually learn each lesson and ensures we fully understand before moving on.” – 8th Grade Student

Needless to say, Mrs. Wickersham is a very important piece of our Village Tech family and we are so grateful for everything she does and her dedication to our students. This is what makes Mrs. Wickersham our May Teacher Spotlight!
