After a long school year, the Class of 2022 is finally preparing for the big day. On June 3rd, 65 seniors will walk the stage and graduate from Village Tech Schools. They have gone through their classes, completed their Junior Internships, and completed a defense of their entire twelve-year education. Now it’s time to celebrate them as they cross the finish line of their primary education.
On Monday, May 2nd, Village Tech hosted a ‘Senior Signing Day’ where each senior stood before their family and friends and declared their plans after graduation. While some announced their college of choice, others announced their intent to join the workforce, go to a trade school and even enter the Air Force. For example, Ms. Brooke Boane declared her intent to go to Sam Houston State, Mr. Ayden Pritchard declared his intent to attend Harding University and Omar Arvizu declared his intent to join the Air Force. No matter the path, the Class of 2022 has an incredibly bright future ahead of them.
During this event, the winners of the Wynne Strong Scholarship were also announced. The Wynne Strong Scholarship Fund was created in honor of Robert Brian Wynne (2/17/1960 – 2/22/2019). Robert was a firm believer in giving “110% to your profession and it would pay you back so you can take good care of yourself and your family”. He “was also a proponent of a balanced life: God, Country, and Family were first.” Work ethic was a high priority too. Each year, a select group of seniors is awarded this scholarship. This year, the three recipients are Amiah Kish who received $2000, Jaden Perry who received $1500, and Samantha Olivar who received $500. Congratulations to all three recipients. Overall, the Class of 2022 received over $1,000,000 in scholarships, making this the largest amount earned by any VT Senior class.
Congratulations to all of our VT Seniors. We are so proud of you and know that whatever your future holds, every single one of you will do great things.
